Scott Jeffry Patch


 

Scott Jeffry Patch, 52, of Rockville, IN passed away on July 16th, 2015 in a construction accident. Scott was born on August 16th, 1962 in Fort Wayne, IN to Virginia Sloan Patch and Joe Howard Patch. In his early childhood, the family moved to Indianapolis, where he was raised. He graduated from North Central High School in 1980 and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Technology from Indiana State University in 1986.

In 1985, Scott married the former Donna Heifner at Rockville Christian Church. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year. They have three daughters, Sharlie Patch, Tavia Patch, and Serena Patch, and one granddaughter, Kendree Shaffer.

Scott established his own construction company, Scott J. Patch Construction. He has worked on commercial projects, but found his true passion in designing and building custom homes for families. He has built approximately 30 homes, including 15 that can be seen from Raccoon Lake. He also built the three homes he lived in over the course of his life with his wife and daughters.

Scott was an involved and dedicated father, always encouraging his daughters toward their goals and attending any event that was meaningful to them. He adored children and loved being the grandfather of Kendree. Scott was also a member of the Rockville Christian Church and was known in the Raccoon Lake community as a trusted neighbor. He maintained an “open door” policy, allowing anyone to visit at any time. He was an avid boater and fisherman and shared that passion with family and friends. Scott was also known for his mechanical skills, always coming to the rescue of anyone who needed anything repaired.

Scott leaves behind his wife Donna, three daughters Sharlie, Tavia, and Serena, and granddaughter Kendree. He is also survived by his mother Virginia Patch of Danville, IN, sister Patricia Pitts of Sullivan, IN, and four brothers, Howard Patch of Danville, IN, Joe Patch of Avon, IN, Dan Patch of Rockville, IN, and Paul Patch of Bloomington, IN, along with several nephews and nieces. Further, he leaves his wife’s brother Ralph Heifner of Indianapolis, IN, and her sisters Jane Presslor of Rocky Fork, IN, and Marilyn McDonough of Indianapolis, IN, along with their spouses and children.

Visitation is open to anyone who knew Scott or his family and will be held at Gooch Funeral Home at 112 Howard Street, Rockville, IN 47872 from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, July 19th, 2015. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday July 20th. He will be laid to rest at Memory Garden in Rockville, IN.
