Ray W. Martin, 81, of Hillsdale, Indiana died at 3:40 pm Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in his residence.

He was the retired owner of Saint Bernice Grain and Fertilizer, Dana Fertilizer and the Quaker Elevator.

He was born November 5, 1933 in Paris, Illinois to the late Glen Martin and Mary Whitesell Martin.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Jo Ann Trout Martin whom he married August 22, 1953 in Troy, Missouri; also surviving, two sons, Michael Shane Martin of Clinton and Terry L. Martin of Clinton; one brother, Stanley Martin of Chrisman, Illinois; one sister, Norma Gilbert of Shreveport , Louisiana; three grandchildren, Jamie L. Martin, Dustin James Martin and Kyle Ray Martin.

He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Martin.

He was a graduate of Chrisman (IL) High School. He served in the Army with the 101st airborne as a Master Sergeant. He served as the former Vermillion County Republican party chairman. He traveled the world and organized many trips for family and friends.

Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, July 25 at Bono Cemetery Chapel in Dana with memorial visitation from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Inurnment will be in Bono Cemetery.
