Man Wanted In Connection To Brazil Shooting Arrested In Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – A man wanted by Brazil Police in connection to a shooting at an apartment complex on May 11th has been arrested.

Thursday night around 8:00 p.m. the Terre Haute Police Department received a tip on where 24-year-old Jay Samuel Ellis of Reelsville might be.

Police went to the home, knocked and ordered Ellis out of the house.

Initially, Ellis refused to exit the home, but after a short period of time he surrendered to Terre Haute Police around 9:30 p.m.

He was then taken to the Clay County Jail.

He is currently facing charges of battery on a pregnant woman, strangulation, possession and dealing methamphetamine.

Requests for additional charges, stemming from the shooting incident, will be turned over to the Clay County Prosecutor at the beginning of next week.
