Single Vehicle Accident On I-70 Sends One To The Hospital With Minor Injuries

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Thursday morning shortly after 10:00 a.m., Indiana State Police responded to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 70 at the 10 mile marker eastbound that sent a Belleville, Illinois man to the hospital.

Troopers say that their investigation shows that a semi-tractor trailer being driven by a 52 year old Jessie B. Conner, eastbound just west of the State Road 46 exit when the vehicle went off the on the south side striking about 300 feet of guardrail. 

Once the truck cleared the guardrail, it rolled over onto the passenger side and came to a rest in a ditch.

The eastbound lane of the interstate was reduced down to one lane for approximately four hours, while crews cleaned up the accident scene.

Conner was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital to be treated for head and back injuries.

Officers say that the accident could have been worse because Conner wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
