Man Accused In Crash That Killed Former Parke County Sheriff Asks For Change Of Venue

PARKE COUNTY, Ind – A change of venue has been requested by the man accused of drunken driving in a Parke County crash the claimed the life of a former sheriff and his wife.

42-year-old Bryan Robertson faces felony charges for the December 2017 accident.

Police said Robertson had a blood-alcohol content of 0.117 percent.

A hearing on the request was to take place late last week but has now been delayed until May 27 to allow the defense more time to file supporting evidence for the request.

A plea agreement in the case was rejected April 9 by Judge Sam Swaim.

The trial is currently set for June 25.

Former Parke County Sheriff Michael Eslinger, and his wife, Darla were killed in the December 21st crash on U.S. 41 about two miles south of Rockville.
