CHICAGO – On Tuesday (2/18/20) President Donald Trump commuted the 14-year prison sentence of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich(D).
Trump called the sentence “ridiculous.” He has served half of his 14 year sentence.
The 63-year-old Blagojevich had been found guilty of crimes that included seeking to sell an appointment to Barack Obama’s old Senate seat and trying to shake down a children’s hospital.
Four of the last 10 Illinois governors have gone to prison for corruption.
