TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — An inmate has died at the Federal Correctional Institute in Terre Haute.

Prison staff found 29-year-old Jose Neives-Galarza unresponsive in his cell Tuesday afternoon.

The prison does not believe coronavirus played a role in his death.

Nieves-Galarza had been at the Terre Haute prison since Dec. 2018. He was serving 87 months for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
