PARIS, Ill – Edgar County has its first case of COVID-19.
In a Facebook post from Horizon Health President and CEO Ollie Smith, it was announced that the first person to test positive is an employee at the Paris hospital.
That person is said to be recovering at home.
Smith said that this is a community acquired infection that came from outside the hospital.
All exposed staff has been tested and results are pending.
Other steps have been taken to protect staff and patients.
