Charles G. Loomis

Rosedale – Charles Graham Loomis, 83, of Rosedale, Indiana entered into the arms of Jesus on July 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 4, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Derald Loomis, Sr. and Margaret Graham Loomis. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Nancy Jean Jackson Loomis whom he married December 22, 1956 in Bridgeton, Indiana.

Other survivors include 3 children, Debbie (Jack) Hopkins of Rockville, Indiana, Wayne (Annette) Loomis and Tina (David) McLaughlin both of Rosedale, Indiana; 11 grandchildren, Stuart Hopkins, Kurt (Ashley) Hopkins, Sharon (Jeremy) Montgomery, Kellie (Chadd) Jenkins, Ryan (Rachel) Loomis, Kyle (Amanda) Hopkins, Karla (Jared) Bartlett, Ashley (Michael) Organ, Justin (Jami) McLaughlin, Jordin McLaughlin and Jarrid (Ashleigh) McLaughlin; and 26 great-grandchildren, Kendall, Brayden, Addilee, Addison, Corinne, Jonah, Jackson, Parker, Milynn, Isaiah, Claire, Carter, Tucker, Scarlett, Zane, McKinlee, Charlie, Warner, Adler, Maiya, Hannah, Wade, Gunner, Liam, Hudson, Cody; one sister, Daisy Margaret (Tom) Palmer of Texas; five sister-in-laws, Terri Loomis of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mary (Bob) Earl of Jenison, Michigan, Grace Broton of Indianapolis, Indiana, Shirley (Rodger Davies) Nevins of Rockville, Indiana, El-Frieda Jackson-Moran of Tuscola, Illinois; and two brother-in-laws, Joe Jackson of Evansville, Indiana and David Dilley of Cypress, Texas; several nieces and nephews and 1 special nephew J.R. Kent. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in law, Paul and Esther Jackson; two brothers Derald Loomis, Jr. and Sam Loomis; Five sister-in-laws, Joyce Loomis, Esther Greene, Evelyn Dilley, Sharon Kent, Linda Jackson and Peggy Jackson; four brother-in-laws, Leonard Jackson, Bud Greene, Bob Broton, and Butch Kent.

He was a 1956 graduate of Bridgeton High School. He was a member of the Bridgeton Baptist Church and had 11 years of perfect attendance at Sunday School as a youth of the church. He had a passion for his family. He loved watching his grandchildren do anything from ballgames to dance recitals. If his family was involved in any activity, he was there.

He had various jobs in his life, most years were spent at Columbia Records (21 years) and retired from Geon in 2000.

Services will be 11:00 am Friday, July 16 at Bridgeton Baptist Church, Bridgeton, Indiana, with Pastor Jack E. Hopkins and Sam Loomis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton, Indiana. Visitation is from 4-8 pm Thursday at Bridgeton Baptist Church.
