Man Accused Of Terre Haute Shooting Arrested In Chicago

Terre Haute, In. – The suspect in the southwestern Vigo County shooting that occurred on August 21st, 40 year old John Bell, was arrested in Chicago, IL Monday by US Marshals. Bell was transported to the Cook County Jail in Chicago, then extradited to Indiana.  Bell is accused of a shooting at Willow Crossing apartments in the southern part of the county.  According to police, Bell shot three people at an apartment on Sweetwater Court within the complex.  He is currently housed in the Vigo County Jail. Bell is facing the following charges as a result of the shooting incident: Attempted Murder, Level 1 Felony Attempted Murder, Level 1 Felony Aggravated Battery, Level 3 Felony Aggravated Battery, Level 3 Felony Unlawful Possession Of Firearm By A Serious Violent Felon, Level 4 Felony Criminal Recklessness, Level 5 Felony This arrest was a culmination of investigative efforts by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshals, THPD, ISP, and Vigo County Prosecutors Office.
