METH BELIEVED TO BE A CAUSE IN WEDNESDAY CRASH

Brazil – Methamphetamine is believed to have been a cause in the crash of Lacey Sparks, 32,of Brazil on Wednesday morning in the area of State Road 59 and Barrett Drive.

The Sheriff’s Department news release states a call was received about 6:05 a.m.

Witnesses said Sparks’ vehicle “was swerving all over the roadway prior to crashing.” During the investigation, deputies had reason to believe Sparks was impaired.

Sparks complained of pain and was transported to the hospital. After being release, Sparks was arrested and preliminarily charged with Possession of Methamphetamine – Level 4 Felony; Possession of Paraphernalia – Class C Misdemeanor; and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated – Class C Misdemeanor.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Posey Volunteer Fire Department and STAR Ambulance. This incident has been forwarded tothe Clay County Prosecutor’s Office for charging information.
