Camper fire spreads to garages in Brazil

A Monday afternoon camper fire spread to nearby garages, said Jackson Township Fire Chief Ryan Sheperd on the scene in the 8000 block of North Murphy Road, about one block south of Pinckley Street.

“Right now, it appears the fire started in a camper behind the property here,” Shepherd told me. “The downside is, campers put off a lot of heat so it quickly spread to houses, even up to the back side of the house, but it was stopped behore it got inside any one of the houses. “

Shepherd said that as far as he knew there were no injuries that were serious “but we’re still gathering information.”

Firefighters from Jackson Township and Van Buren Township were among those responding to the call.
