INDIANA – If you don’t move over, you WILL get pulled over.

Fail to change lanes or slow down for a stopped emergency vehicle while driving this week and you can expect to get a ticket from Indiana State Police.

It’s part of a week-long mission by police in Indiana and five other states to catch people who fail to follow the “move-over law.”

That law, introduced in Indiana in 1999, requires you to change lanes or slow down to 10 miles below the posted speed limit when emergency vehicles are stopped on the side of the road.

ISP says 20 police cars, four ambulances, 10 fire trucks, and two highway department trucks have been hit so far this year.
