CLAY COUNTY, Ind – The Indiana State Police report that the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges against a Las Vegas man in connection to a fatal crash that occurred earlier this year on I-70 at the 21 mile marker in Clay County.
39 year old Amehadari Desta has been ordered to appear in Clay Superior Court next Wednesday December 11th.
Desta is being charged with felony Obstructing Traffic Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
In July this year Desta allegedly crashed his semi-tractor trailer into a vehicle that had slowed for a disabled semi-tractor trailer. 67 year old Dolores C. Soroa of West Miami, Florida, and 70 year old Anelis Norq-Herrera Perez, of Cuba were killed.
In all four vehicles were involved in the crash.
Indiana State Police say that drugs and alcohol were not a contributing factor in the crash.
