INDIANAPOLIS — Investment in international business is a big key for the Holcomb Administration in 2020.

It’s such a goal for Gov. Eric Holcomb that he is planning to host business executives from all over the world at a summit in Indianapolis in April. He likens it to the summits held in Davos, Switzerland every year.

“We’ll have diplomats and decision makers and some other high-ranking folks,” Holcomb said to Inside Indiana Business. “Not just part of a committee but speakers. We’re going to be talking about the future — what it looks like.”

When pressed further about who would be coming to the summit, without naming names, Holcomb said “the highest-ranking American diplomat” will be there as well as “a football coach who is good at motivational speeches.”

Holcomb plugged many of the international businesses that have invested in Indiana during his tenure, such as Infosys, Toyota, and Fiat-Chrysler. In all, Holcomb said international investment totaled over $8 billion in 2019.
