Southwest Parke Schools To Go On Alternative Schedule

PARKE COUNTY, Ind – Southwest Parke Schools have announced that they will be following an alternate schedule due to COVID-19 Pandemic.

The school system issued the following statement below:

 

In order to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus and in order to comply with recent directives from Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, all Southwest Parke Schools will operate on an alternative schedule beginning on Monday, March 16. The schedule detail is as follows:

 

No students will attend school in any building from Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 3. Students will have e-learning lessons on Tuesday, March 17, Wednesday, March 18, and Thursday, March 19. Students may access those lessons via the internet using online resources just as any other e-learning day. Students who do not have access to the internet will be provided packets for learning. Information about how to get those packets will be coming from your school soon. Additionally, students who are in need of food assistance will have access to food packets for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week. Our Food Service Director will make information available about that program very soon.

 

March 23 through March 27 is our Spring Break. There will be no e-learning lessons during this time.

 

March 30 through April 3 our schools will be closed. There will be no e-learning lessons during this time.

 

From Monday, March 16 through Friday April 3, there will be no athletic practices, no athletic contests, no concerts, or other school and community activities. Our buildings and grounds will not be open to students or the public.
