VIGO COUNTY, Ind – A West Vigo teen was killed in a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning (5/31/20).

Just before 1:00 a.m. Vigo County Deputies were called to a single vehicle crash in the 1000 block of Sherburne Place in western Vigo County.

Officers report that they found a Dodge Neon that had run off the road and crashed head-on into a tree.

It is not known what caused the crash.

The driver, 18 year old Robert Killebrew of western Vigo County, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse said that drugs and alcohol were not suspected.

Vigo County School Corporation Director of Communications Bill Riley said Sunday that councilors will be available to speak with students Monday from 9a.m. to 2 p.m. both virtually and outside the school.

A prayer vigil was held at West Vigo High School Sunday evening.
