Suspect In The Murder Of Rapper Young Dolph Arrested In Brazil

Brazil – In.  Justin Johnson, one of the suspects in the shooting of Rapper Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Thornton Jr. was arrested Tuesday near a Truck Stop at 59 & I-70 just south of Brazil. Young Dolph was shot at a cookie shop in his hometown of Memphis, Tn. in November 2021. Authorities had issued an arrest warrant for Johnson on first-degree murder and other charges including federal probation violation.  Johnson had a lengthy record. He was tried at age 17 on charges of aggravated rape and aggravated robbery. He also served time for shooting three people at a bowling alley and had been arrested on state drug and weapons charges.  Johnson was traveling on State Road 42 when he was stopped and arrested.  27-year-old Shondale Barnett, a passenger in the car was also arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.  Both are awaiting extradition back to Memphis.
