Officers originally arrested King shortly after the murder, but The Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office dismissed that case due to a lack of evidence. Then, one year ago, police in Louisville found the alleged murder weapon while working on an unrelated case.

Police in Louisville also said a confidential informant came forward and claimed King used that same weapon to kill Caldwell. He is expected to be extradited next week.
