Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom  said Tuesday – that construction crews are now pouring the footings at the site, to prepare for the foundation. Construction on the new jail facility is expected to take up to 18 months. The department could begin to move some equipment and offices into the facility within one year. Ground was broken on the new 39-million dollar jail facility in June. Once complete, the sheriff’s adinistration offices and the dispatch center will be under one roof.
