Terre Haute- Eleanor A. Brant, 83, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at The Gibson Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute. She was a retired Register Nurse at Union Hospital.

She was born September 16, 1939 in Springfield, Missouri to the late Louie Stokes and Lillian Lalor Stokes. Her husband, Billy G. Brant preceded her in death on December 16, 2013.

She is survived by one son, Jonathan S. Brant of Rosedale and one sister, Miriam (Norm) Zwitter of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Stokes her twin and Louie E. Stokes.

She was a member of Barbour Avenue Worship Center. She was raised in Cuba and Argentina, the child of a missionary couple. She came back to the United States as a teenager and went to Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. She later received her BSN at Indiana State University. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at Union Hospital for 25 years. She and Bill owned a family farm where she enjoyed taking care of the one acre strawberry patch. She had a heart of gold and worked hard her entire life.

Services will be 12:00 pm Monday, May 1, at Barbour Avenue Worship Center, 1401 Barbour Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana with Pastor Bob and Pastor Kathy Roush officiating. Visitation will be from 11am-12 pm Monday at Barbour Avenue Worship Center. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Terre Haute.
