VIGO COUNTY, Indiana (DLC Media) – The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office has reported the death of one of its detainees over the weekend. 63-year-old Jack L. Eggers of Terre Haute died of a reported medical episode on Saturday.

Eggers had been experiencing chest pains that morning and an evaluation was conducted by on-site medical personnel. Eggers was transported to Regional Hospital and taken in for an emergency surgery. While in recovery, Eggers died.

Eggers was being detained for pending felony charges related to child molestation and was awaiting a trial. Eggers had been in the Vigo County Jail for six months prior to the incident.
