ROCKVILLE-Joyce Edgar, 84, of Rockville, Indiana died at 7:53 pm Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Exceptional Living Center in Brazil. She retired in 1981 as a nurse’s aide with Castle Shannon Nursing Home in Rockville.
She was born August 29, 1930 in Pueblo, Colorado to the late Stanford Britton and Maggie Mae Lloyd Britton. Her husband of 49 years, Joseph R. Edgar, Sr. whom she married June 11, 1946 died December 15, 1995.Survivors include three sons, Joseph (Karol) Edgar of Lafayette, Jerry (Carol) Edgar of Ashdown, Arkansas and Bob (Lee Ann) Edgar of Rockville; one daughter, Joyce (Ted) Simonton of Rockville; three sisters, Alberta Jacobs of Hannibal, Missouri, Zelma Jacobs of Fredrickstown, Missouri and Alma McWhorter of Salem, Missouri; 16 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Hoskins, son-in-law, Fred Hoskins, bother, Raymond Britton, four sisters, Netta McCall, Wanda Mathis, Bernice Miller and her twin Joy McDaniels.

She was a member of the Rockville First Church of the Nazarene.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday, July 6, at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville with the Rev. Al Riggle officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation is 9:00 am until 11:00 am Monday at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville.
