VIGO COUNTY — A shooting was reported around 11:20 p.m., Friday, on East Brookside Drive in southern Vigo County, said Sheriff John Plasse.

Deputies were advised that two male juveniles were shot at this address. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that a vehicle had fled the area after the shooting occurred.

The two juvenile male shooting victims were taken to Regional Hospital. At last report one victim has been released and the other was listed in stable condition.

A short time later, the suspect vehicle was located in the 1200 block of Spruce Street in Terre Haute by Terre Haute City Police Officers. Two males were located inside and taken to the Sheriff’s Office for further interviews, by Sheriff’s Office detectives.

After the interviews were complete, Christopher Compton, 18, from Terre Haute was arrested and is initially being charged with aggravated battery.

Also assisting during this incident was West Terre Haute Police Department. The investigation is ongoing.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” said Sheriff Plasse.
